Two sharp kicks and this swimmer accelerates into his tumble turn. This photograph was taken as part of the calendar shoot for charity Down’s Syndrome Scotland. Borrowing an underwater housing it really wasn’t that easy staying under without a weight belt with one eye on the subject and other looking out for a leak in the housing.
I’d joined the Scottish Down’s Syndrome swimming team at their training centre at University of Stirling. Such was the focus that day very few words were exchanged, as they were so intent on the job at hand.
